GRAC
Just a ten-minute walk from Kristiansand city center, you’ll find the inter-, multi-, and trans-disciplinary neighborhood of Grim. The meaning of this name might be unpretentious and humorous—as it directly translates to "ugly" in many languages, which the district is far from being. Grim combines the traditional beauty of nature, architecture, and human interaction with raw diversity, industrial history, and engaged residents. This redefines "Grim" as a term for the neighborhood’s artistic identity rather than its physical location.
Grim Residency for Artists and Curators (GRAC) is a newly established hub for art, culture, and dialogue, designed to attract artists and curators from outside the Agder region to connect with practitioners, stakeholders, and organizations in Southern Norway. By doing so, GRAC aims to foster art, activities, and networks that operate across local, national, and international contexts.
